Hello and welcome to greens of Africa, an ever growing catalogue of African plants, i decided to make a blog on it due to the lack of wide spread knowledge about African plants, i hope you enjoy your time here and that you got enough information on what you wanted.
So here and in all posts the local names are written in bold italics with the language in brackets
the scientific names are written in italics
all these are followed by a short bio of the plant and it's uses, identification and all.
Please information on this site is inconclusive and should be accepted with caution as with everything internet related.

Africa the land of plenty

Africa is such a rich continent. from our dense tropical jungles to the savannah grasslands  to the deserts there are numerous edible, palatable and medicinal plants available  and who else is able to give views on them but someone, much resident there, and who has had direct use of such. 
The information given here are to be verified before being followed especially those about consuming as the saying goes. A MAN'S FOOD IS SURELY POISON TO ANOTHER. Enjoy
